Jarrod Mosely and Peter Lonard made the decision to share the inaugural title won at the Hyatt Regency Coolum, when it became impossible to stage a playoff due to darkness.

Peter Senior claimed his second Australian PGA Championship title, this time in his home state. His first PGA title was won in 1989 at Riverside Oaks in NSW.

Peter Lonard won his second PGA title despite starting the final day 3 strokes behind the 3rd round leader, James Nitties who was playing only his fourth ever professional event.

Having won the Australian Open the week prior, Robert Allenby won his third PGA before going on to win the Australian Masters the following week.

Nick O'Hern holed out from the greenside bunker for birdie on the fourth hole of a play-off with Peter Lonard to end a 7 year title drought.

Peter Lonard established himself as the ‘King of Coolum’ taking home his third PGA title in 6 years following a final round of seven-under 65 to win by three shots.

In what was ultimately a battle between Mathew Goggin and his final round playing partner, Geoff Ogilvy, it was Ogilvy who prevailed to win his first professional title on Australian soil.

An emotional Robert Allenby claimed his fourth Australian PGA Championship title at Coolum last year and dedicated his emphatic four-stroke victory to his late mother, Sylvia.
